The Blitz throughout the Second World War, by the sheer scale of bombing and destruction of buildings and the surrounding panorama, revealed numerous components of the London Wall. This revealed parts of the wall unseen for vapedutch over 300 years as the rubble of buildings destroyed around it had been removed. Several sections, including this one, had been preserved by being included into later buildings. Some wards - Aldersgate, Bishopsgate and Cripplegate - cowl an area that was each inside and outdoors the wall; though not cut up into separate wards, bestenezigaretten often the half (or "division") inside the Wall is denoted (on maps, in paperwork, and so forth.) as being "within" and the part outdoors the Wall as being "without".

Complete with its battlements, the Roman wall would have been about 6.4 metres high. In 1984, the Museum of London set up a Wall Stroll from the Tower of London to the museum, using 23 tiled panels.
